A viral video on social media shows the Chief Minister JohorDatuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, gave a speech using little Javanese language.
Videos posted on Instagram accounts @viralpressid it has been liked more than 3,700 times. The formal speech appears to have been delivered by Onn Hafiz before the Johor state parliament in Malaysia. It is not clear when the speech was delivered.
Onn Hafiz made most of his speeches in Malay, but in the middle of his speech, he inserted several sentences in foreign languages, including Javanese.
In the viral video clip, Onn Hafiz is discussing the Johor Sultanate’s efforts to help its citizens regardless of ethnicity, religion or descent.
“The state government has and will continue to consistently help the people of Johor regardless of race, religion, degree or descent,” he said in Malay.
“We are truly a color blind state when it comes to helping the people of Bangsa Johor,” Onn Hafiz continued in English.
He then asked permission to speak another foreign language.
“Or in other words, with the honorable permission of Datuk Speaker. This is a colorful buto, everything is the same,” said Onn Hafiz, with a Javanese sentence which means ‘We are all color blind, we are all the same’.
