They identify the man who attacked the Ibagué police with a dagger: they asked him to turn down the volume of the music

In the last few hours, an unfortunate act of intolerance that occurred in the capital of Tolima was known, where a man attacked a police officer with a stabbing weapon, who asked him to reduce the volume of the sound equipment.

Immediately, reinforcement uniforms went in search of the individual who fled, capturing him in the Ibagué 2000 neighborhood.

The event occurred when the residents of the sector requested help from the authorities, due to the fact that the high volume of music interrupted the tranquility of the residents of block E of said neighborhood.

“When the uniformed officers arrived, a group of people were drinking intoxicating drinks, in addition to having apparently unusual decibels of sound, so that, when they were required, a man who was there presumably did not like the decision of to end said meeting in the street, for which reason he would have taken out a sharp weapon, causing a deep wound to our subintendent,” reported Colonel Carlos Oviedo, commander of the Ibagué Metropolitan Police.

The victim police officer is Deputy Iván Darío Montiel Cañizales, attached to CAI Gaviota. The uniformed man suffered an open wound on his right forearm, which was taken to Clínica Nuestra, where he received the corresponding medical attention. According to the health report, the policeman remains stable.

The event occurred around 10 in the morning on Sunday, January 15, where several individuals drank liquor in the middle of a public thoroughfare.

The attacker was identified as 26-year-old Cristian Felipe Serna Rincón, who was brought before the Sixth Guarantee Control Court, where the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with violence against a public servant.
