Kevin Spacey, despite the string of sexual misconduct allegations he has faced since 2017, has not retreated from public life. The actor “just goes on with his life,” he says in a rare interview.
“I live my life every day. I go to restaurants, I meet people, I drive my car, I play tennis,” Spacey told the Italian news agency. ANSA. “I’m not hiding. I didn’t live in a cave.”
It is the first time in a long time that Spacey has spoken to the press again. He is in Italy because he will receive a special oeuvre award in Turin on Monday, something that led to a lot of criticism in the southern European country. On Sunday, Spacey was seen in the stands at a football match between Torino FC and Spezia.
On Friday, Spacey pleaded not guilty to seven new charges against him in court in London. It concerns sex crimes that allegedly took place between 2001 and 2004, including assault.
These seven cases are added to five other cases, which allegedly took place between 2005 and 2013. The cases will continue to be heard later this year and Spacey will hear whether he will be found guilty.
