MOSCOW – One more rare and totally crazy occurrence, tank The Russian T-80 is impervious to bombs in an attack drone Ukraine. The incident was clearly recorded and shared on Russian social media accounts.

The rare occurrence, of course, occurred on the battlefields of Ukraine. However, the footage that was widely circulated did not explain when the attack occurred and in which area.

In the footage, it is clear that the bomb was dropped from a drone directly above the hold of a Russian T-80 tank. The bomb fell directly above the hatch of the T-80 tank and a large explosion was seen.

However, the bomb explosion failed to penetrate the T-80’s turret armor or damage the tank. Uniquely, a few seconds later, the T-80 tank opened fire while moving backwards.

“It is clear that there is no damage to the turret of the T-80 tank and overall the tank is in good condition,” wrote the Bulgarian Military website, Monday (16/1/2023).

This footage is interesting, not because of the failure of Ukrainian drone bombs to destroy Russian T-80 tanks. The main thing of concern is the T-80 tank’s armor which is capable of neutralizing Ukrainian drone attack bombs.

It is known that in August 2022, Russia began the modernization of the T-80 tank by replacing the Kontakt 1 reactive armor cube with the latest development, namely the Relikt reactive armor. So the T-80 tank has been upgraded to the T-80BVM level, which means it has a new crew protection system, new fire suppression system and communications.

This event can be said to be one of the rare incidents since the beginning of the war which showed the failure of bomb attacks on Russian tanks. In fact, usually bomb attacks from Ukrainian drones aimed at the holds are able to penetrate the tank’s turret armor.

There have been a number of comments doubting that it was a Russian tank, otherwise the tank was operated by Ukrainian forces. However, the fact that the code word ‘V’ was found on the tank’s cover armor indicated that it belonged to the Russian troops.

This is because both the letter ‘Z’ and the letter ‘V’ are used for designation by the Russian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian Armed Forces never used a single letter designation on their weapons systems during the war.

Some believe that the tank is Ukrainian, due to the yellow and blue coloring of the T-80 tank’s main gun. However, there are three colors on the muzzle, not two, the last being the red range. The fact that the flag is tricolored indicates that this is a Russian tank.
