The facilities will have capacity for 350 seats and will cost 14.1 million euros

The central government has tendered the project for the creation of an international reception center for refugees in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The facilities, budgeted at 14.1 million euros, will be located in the old Arana Residence in the capital of Álava.
The center will have capacity for 350 places and a constructed area of 13,000 square meters, which will be located on a plot of 14,434 square meters, according to the documentation provided by the Government Delegation to Europa Press.
The Secretary of State for Migrations has tendered the construction and execution project for an amount of 982,010 euros, although the estimated global financing of the works is 14.1 million euros.
This project is included in the Central Executive’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and the necessary investments for it are included in the General State Budget (PGE) for this year.
The award of the project is scheduled for February, while the start of the works has been set for July. It is estimated that the work will finish a year later, in July 2024. The start-up of the center will be carried out in phases.
