The media office of the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Muhammad Karaki, announced, in a statement, that “as is customary at the beginning of each new year, and with the aim of completing the annual arithmetic reconciliations between the regional and local offices and the head office, the National Social Security Fund stops for a short period from paying social and health benefits.” for the secured.
Under the direction of the Director General of the Fund, the concerned users completed their tasks as quickly as possible in order not to delay the obtainment of their rights by the insured.
Accordingly, Karaki issued Resolution No. 24 on 01/16/2023, according to which he decided to give the regional and local offices financial advances amounting to about /13.4/ billion LBP. To finance the offices periodically (every fifteen days), and these advances will be allocated to paying the contributions of the sickness and maternity branches, family compensation, and a part of the optional insured, especially for the insured who suffer from incurable and cancerous diseases, because any delay in this field jeopardizes their health security.
The Director General of the Fund confirmed that during the next few days, the local and regional offices and centers spread over all Lebanese regions will return to paying contributions normally.
Dr. Karaki also thanked the Lebanese state, especially the Ministry of Finance, for paying the amount of /1225/ billion L.L. During the year 2022, he gave the good news to the Lebanese that these funds will follow the right path by allocating them to secure the funding necessary to reconsider the Fund’s contribution to the drug and hospital bill, as well as the funds that will be additionally returned to the Fund’s treasury due to the wage increase that was recently announced by His Excellency the Minister of Labor, Professor Mustafa.
