Gagliardini, time expired at Inter: wrong complaints about a reserve that cost too much

The Gazzetta dello Sport devotes a page to the case Gagliardini‘, a player who on Saturday evening, with his statements, effectively decreed in advance the end of his relationship with l’Inter which will arrive on 30 June next, the expiry date of the current contract. “I am 28 years old, I consider myself a professional and I still have a lot to give. I no longer intend to have this playing time, I will make my choices in June. I have swallowed a lot of anger and learned to be more mature”, his unequivocal words. Legitimate according to colleagues of the roseawho however point out: “perhaps he should ask himself a question: has he given more to Inter or has he received more from Inter?”.

After having drawn up an assessment of his years in Milan, where he arrived in 2017 for 25 million euros as a beautiful promise to then be perceived soon as a good backup, the piece questions whether Gaglia is truly an Inter player. “It’s difficult to answer with a convinced yes. It’s not like Inter if we broaden our horizons to Europe. It’s like Inter if we look at Italy alone and for certain intermediate matches, even if the other evening against Verona at the San Siro the fans made noises for some of his wrong passes and for his “sloth-like” movements. If we were Gagliardini, we’d be thankful and not complaining, six and a half years with Inter were a privilege. We don’t want to say that he didn’t deserve it, but more than anything else he reached the end of a long-term contract. He’s only 28 years old and if he were a phenomenon, Inter would offer him another suitable renewal.”
