On the occasion of the 20th Franco-German week, many actions are taking place at the Deutsche Schule in Colomiers.
The demonstrations start this Monday, January 16 for the students. Marie Vaislic, deported at the age of 14, will indeed come to bear witness to the Nazi era. Rich moments of exchange with the students of the German school and the International Victor Hugo high school.
Thursday 19 January, at 7.30 p.m., the theater play “Opa!” by Ilka Vierkant and Bernadette Pourquié will be presented. Open to the general public, the members of the Compagnie Vasistdas tell the story of a German woman living in Toulouse trying to find her place between her Nazi grandfather and the Toulouse survivors of the Holocaust who could have met him at the time. . Torn between her feeling of guilt and her responsibility for transmission, the actress symbolically confronts her grandfather with his actions and his involvement.
She decides to look at the mistakes of the past, as painful as they are. The show will be followed by a stage edge and a debate.
This week coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty. This treaty of Franco-German friendship defined the framework for increased cooperation between France and Germany and laid the foundations of the future European Union.
