With all the series that come out it must be said that we have a lot of shit or stuff that falls into clichés and becomes so bad that we think that some series should have stopped after the first season. Today we are going to talk about the opposite effect, those who have clearly improved in their second season, it is rarer but it exists.

The White Lotus

The first season was cool, there were nice characters, the heavenly atmosphere and everything, but there it was, it was just cool. We’re not going to lie to each other, the second was much more gripping and above all we said to ourselves that absolutely each of the stories could go wrong, which left a big suspense less present in the first. Sacred success which is a good reason to subdue White Lotus.

Fleabag

If the first was already very cool, funny and touching, it seems that the brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge has pushed the sliders to the maximum for her second season by taking the path of a masterful conclusion and an even funnier and sad at the same time. On the other hand, we do not recommend the French remake which is as qualitative as if I had filmed it with my cat in a municipal park.

The Wire

The first season is already excellent but we can agree that the series becomes more and more incredible as it progresses and the second gave us a glimpse of what the series was planning: something big, vast, with a lot of characters and plots. Cops and drug dealers weren’t the main characters, it was the city of Baltimore. Another good reason to watch The Wire.

The Office

If the entire series is a mix of particularly disturbing / funny humor (what we call cringe now) it must be said that the first season is far from being the best. As in many sitcoms the characters are not yet well posed, the rhythm is still being sought, the situations are unclear (except in Philadelphia)… And you finally have to hold on to start fully appreciating the trick.

Atlanta

As each episode is unique, it is difficult to judge the entirety of each season, and if the first was very very good, the second had two masterpieces, the episodes “Teddy Perkins” and “Woods”, pushing back its own codes and everything that was expected of it. A good big slap.

Parks and Recreations

The first season is really badly done so much that the writing team doesn’t even recommend watching it. It’s kind of a copy/paste of The Office much less well. But if you hold on to second you’re going to see a big improvement (which climbs even higher in third) and you’re going to want to keep going, because Ron Swanson. Ron fucking Swanson.

Community

For some season 1 is too absurd and you have to wait to get to the second to reach the peak of laughter, personally I liked it from the start but I can understand. Must say that in the second and third cohesion in the “study group” is absolutely perfect and it becomes more and more funny.

Friends

The first season is nice but we don’t have all the stakes yet, the characters are badly finished, it’s hard to get attached, whereas in the second season we start to see something happening between Rachel and Ross (the big love story that will clearly make us vibrate for 10 seasons), Monica is having sex with her vioque and it’s rather funny. In short, you feel good there like in little slippers in winter. Forget season 3 with Ross and Rachel’s relationship going down the drain (zero vibration).

Better Call Saul

Well, I haven’t looked but it seems that the adventures of the crooked lawyer improve more and more as the seasons go by, and if the first one is apparently cool it gets even better from the second. Unable to tell you more I can tell you my favorite color is purple. Or the green. I like the blue too. It’s stupid this principle of favorite color.

True Detective

No I’m kidding, the second season was particularly bad, that said the third was cool if you have the opportunity. And the fourth season is one of the most anticipated series in 2023.

Bonus : 1899

Haha no, lost, it’s canceled like 90% of the series Netflixgreat, so cool.
