More accidents on the E18: – Soap slick

On the E18 near Horten, a traffic accident involving several cars was reported at 20.27. According to the fire service, there is a chain collision involving a total of four cars.

The Swedish Road Traffic Agency writes that there is reduced accessibility on the northbound route between Flår and Kopstad as a result of the accident.

– The accident must have happened north of the Flår tunnel. There should be almost no traffic past the accident site, writes Sør-East police district.

More accidents

Shortly before the emergency services reported the accident at Horten, there were two traffic accidents on the E18 at Sandefjord, with a total of three cars and seven people involved.

– First, a car has driven into the guardrail. Another car was then hit from behind by a third. These two have not come across the first one.

All those involved have been supervised by health personnel, and two of them have been taken to the emergency department for a check-up, the police write.

Vegtrafikksentralen has reduced the speed to 50 kilometers per hour past the accident site. Bilberger has been notified.

Traffic operator Ole-Petter Ruud at Vegtrafikksentralen Sør tells Dagbladet that they have received feedback that the road surface on E 18 is slippery.

He advises road users to adjust their speed and be prepared for delays.

– Even if it looks black on the ground, that doesn’t mean it’s just damp. With freezing temperatures, it can freeze, says Ruud.

He says that they are out on the roads and salt, but emphasizes that there may be stretches where the salt is not as good.
