The eight-time representative of Ukraine was mainly linked with Arsenal, but in the end negotiations were brought to a successful conclusion by Chelsea, with whom he signed a contract until 2031.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Blues will send Shakhtar up to 100 million euros. The basic transfer fee is 70 million euros, the remaining part consists of performance bonuses. Mudryk becomes the most expensive transfer in this transfer window.

Chelsea made Mudryk the fifth most expensive transfer in the club’s history after Romelu Lukaku, Wesley Fofan, Kai Havertz and Kep, while it is the most expensive sale for Shakhtar.
Mudryk is a pupil of Shakhtar Donetsk, whose first team he got a first look at in the 2018/19 season, during the past year he fully showed his potential. The native of Krasnograd played for the Ukrainian club in 44 competitive matches with a record of 12 goals and 17 assists.
Chelsea have been very active in this transfer window, having already signed João Félix (Atlético Madrid), Benoît Badiashile (AS Monaco), David Fofana (Molde) and Andrey Santos (Vasco da Gama).
