The gathering of the families of the martyrs, wounded, and those affected by the Beirut port explosion indicated that they view with great suspicion the judicial heresy in the case of the arrest of William Noun. To say the least, he is corrupt and a failure to the core.”
The gathering also saw in a statement that “this matter falls within a scheme to intimidate and subjugate the people of the martyrs of the port to break their resolve and their insistence on knowing the truth in order to reach justice and accountability,” stressing that this matter will only increase their determination to confront this corrupt system with its judiciary and politicians.
In addition, they demanded the immediate release of William Noun, and “serious judicial work away from politics and politicization to complete the investigations so that we do not have to take steps they and the street are indispensable for.”
