The daughter of an American and a Filipino, she is a Texan model, with a degree in Fashion and Clothing Design from the University of North Texas. After finishing her fashion studies, the 28-year-old model created her own clothing label, R’ Bonney Nola. She was elected Miss USA after a pageant at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, where she defeated representatives from Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Miss Ohio.
After a series of parades in traditional and gala swimsuits, the Texan succeeded Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, who was crowned Miss Universe in December 2021 at the age of 21. She also beat Amanda Dudamel, also a Venezuelan fashion designer, who was in second place as the universal viceroy.
R’Bonney will receive her title and will live between Thailand and New York, being the new face of the watermark of Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, a trans model and businesswoman who now also owns the Miss Universe franchise. Now herself, she becomes the ninth American to win the miss universe title. Her predecessor was the model and also presenter, Olivia Culpo, in 2012.
