Coach Dušan Andrašovský’s players, who in Sweden dominated Group B without losing a point and lost to Finland 2:3 in the quarterfinals, surprised the Slovaks with a great start. Already in 1:07 they were leading 3:0.
After 10 seconds, Šapovalivová opened the scoring and took care of the fastest goal of the tournament. In 21 seconds, Dominika Malická found captain Natália Brichová in front of the goal, who beat Livia Debnárová for the second time. Immediately after Adéla Wojnarová’s shot, Prošková made her way from the goalpost into the open goal.
In the 9th minute, Linda Vocetková scored from the left circle and Debnárová was replaced by Soňa Kubaniová. At 33:01, Prošková, alone again, made it 5:0. In the 38th minute, Barbora Dalecká lost a clean sheet after Nela Lopušanová’s penetration. She stopped her forehand bluff with concrete, but the 14-year-old star of the tournament sent the puck into the goal from the air.
In the 52nd minute, in a power play, Šapovalivová restored the five-goal lead to the Czech team. The Slovakians corrected the result with two goals in the 55th minute. Lopušanová, following the example of Mikael Granlund, after scoring a floorball goal in the quarterfinals, showed another great escape with a stick between her legs and improved her position at the top of the tournament’s statistics. In the fifth game of the tournament, she scored her 12th point and ninth goal. Tatiana Blichová completed the result in 19 seconds.
