Stefano Pioli evaluate AC Milan too many mistakes in the first half against Lecce. They can get back up but it’s not enough to get the three points.
Milan was held 2-2 when they visited Lecce. Stadio Comunale Via del Mare, in the follow-up match Italy League, Saturday (14/1/2022). The Rossoneri had to trail 0-2 in the first half due to Theo Hernandez’s own suicide in the third minute and Baschirotto’s goal in the 23rd minute.
The visitors were able to recover in the second half from goals by Rafael Leao in the 58th minute and Davide Calabria in the 70th minute. They continued to attack in the rest of the game but not enough to score the winning goal.
milan coach, Stefano Pioli, regretted the poor performance of his team in the first round. He considered Il Diavolo to make too many mistakes before halftime.
This condition makes Milan have to work hard to get up after the break. Calabria et al responded to be able to correct their mistakes. However, Milan did not have enough time to win.
“In the first half, we made every possible mistake. We made a completely avoidable mistake and that cost us a lot of effort,” Pioli told DAZN.
“We reacted well but couldn’t win in the end, but we have to do much better,” he explained.
Failure to win three points at Lecce headquarters made Milan unable to close the distance with Napoli at the top of the standings. Milan is currently in second place with 38 points, nine points behind Il Partenopei.
