For two or three years, the telecommunications market has clearly begun to be divided into infrastructural operators offering access on a wholesale basis and service operators that reach the customer directly. Orange, Plus, Play with UPC are the owners of the network to a lesser and lesser extent – indicates “Rzeczpospolita”.
W 2021 r. Orange Polska sold half of the shares in the company to which it contributed fiber optic lines “Światłowod Inwestycje” for PLN 1.38 billion, and the Polsat Plus Group sold almost all shares in Polkomtel Infrastruktura (currently known as Towerlink Poland) for PLN 3.69 billion. Now these companies are trying to raise wholesale prices, which will later be transferred to retail.

An application for a price increase for the company in which Fiber Optic Investments has half of the shares was also submitted by Orange Polska and is currently waiting for the UKE’s approval, the newspaper reports. Here, too, the network was built with the use of EU funds. Agreements with the company’s customers provided for increases of 2.5 percent. annually and such increases were introduced.
