After the victory, the people of Vilnius stood up during the second half, during which they scored as many as 39 points. True, not everything went well for “Ryta” at the beginning of the match – in the first half, the LKL champions had a seven-point deficit.
“We started the match dull. Perhaps this carried over from the previous duel in Greece. The players saw that we couldn’t play like that, we shifted into another gear and started working on defense.
When you start working on defense, there is also offense. We played a fun second half, that was enough in this match”, said “Ryto” coach G. Žibėnas after the match.
The coach of the capital team also did not deny that “Rytas” may receive reinforcements in the future.
“However, we would certainly not be strengthened by anything. We are following the market, the whole team is working on this question, but we will definitely not take it. If something comes up somewhere and opportunities allow, then why not.
But at the moment we are concentrating on Tuesday’s match, this is not a priority issue”, emphasized G. Žibėnas.
Rytas will play the next match on Tuesday. At home, the club of the capital will host the Thessaloniki PAOK basketball players. The best-of-two FIBA Champions League playoff series is currently tied at 1-1.
