Palm Springs, California. – El Palm Springs International Film Festival was held this week with international Oscar pre-selection panels, where 11 of the international film directors shortlisted for the Oscars were present, including Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The members of the Sociedad of Cinema produce the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) each January and the so-called “ShortFest” of Palm Springs in June.
In addition to curating the best of international cinema, PSIFF has become the first stop on the road to the Academy Awards and the Oscar qualifier “ShortFest”, it is the largest short film festival and market in North America.

According to the organizers of the PSIFFIñárritu attended the second international pre-selection panel in its 34th edition that was held this past January 11 in Palm Springs, California.
Among the international filmmakers were also: Ali Abbasi, Colm Bairéad, Davy Chou, Jerzy Skolimowski, Lukas Dhont, Marie Kreutzer, Pan Nalin, Saim Sadiq, James Miter, and Tarik Saleh.
