The Teatro Bretn begins this Sunday, January 15, the Film Series in Original Version (VO) with the film ‘The Rite of Spring’ by director Fernando Franco, starring Valeria Sorolla, Telmo Irueta and Emma Surez.

The VO Film Series program is made up of six films that will be screened in the original version with subtitles and that have won awards or been presented at the most prestigious international festivals.

In addition to the Spanish film ‘The Rite of Spring’, presented in the Official Section of the San Sebastian festival in 2022, the French film ‘Hold Me Tight’, by Mathieu Amalric, which could be seen in the Official Section of the Cannes Film Festival, will be screened. in 2021 and won the Las Nuevas Olas Award at the Seville Festival; the Korean ‘The novelist and her film’, by Hong Sangsoo, Silver Bear at the 2022 Berlin Festival; ‘Do’, a co-production of Spain, France, Argentina and Chile that won the Silver Biznaga for Best Director at the Malaga Festival.

‘A story of love and desire’, a Franco-Tunisian co-production that won the Best Film and Best Actor award at the Film Francophone d’Angouleme; and the French film ‘La fracture’, which received six Csar Award nominations in 2021 and was the Audience Award at the Gijn festival.

The film ‘The Rite of Spring’ tells the story of Laura, a young woman who comes to Madrid to study and settles in a residence hall. Alone and with almost no money, she tries to adjust to her college life while she deals with her insecurities. One night she meets David, a boy with cerebral palsy who lives with her mother, Isabella. With them she begins a relationship that helps her overcome her complexes and face a new stage towards maturity.
