A United States special agency (NASA) claims to have found, on Mars, the precious stone opal.
On Earth, opal can be found in only two places: Australia and Brazil.
According to NASA, the recent discovery of opal on Mars is important for different reasons, such as the possibility that the stone, composed in part of H₂O, can be diluted and release water.
In the country, the stone is in Piauí, and was discovered in 1969.
