– It is a false accusation. It never happened. It would never happen.
Donald Trump stubbornly claimed that during a testimony in October.
He was then asked about the accusation from the profiled writer and columnist E. Jean Carroll (79), who claims he raped her in a fitting room at Bergdorf Goodman in the 90s.
Parts of the diploma was made public on Friday, after Judge Lewis Kaplan in New York rejected the former president’s request to keep it from the public.
There it appears, among other things, that he refers to Carroll as “mentally ill” and “a complete liar”.
The chaos has just begun
– Indicated she loved it
In the testimony, Donald Trump highlights statements made by E. Jean Carroll in an interview with CNN in the summer of 2019.
However, he has his own version of what was said in the interview. This part of the diploma has received a lot of attention in the American press.
In the interview, Carroll said that she herself avoids using the word “rape” about the alleged incident, because of the word’s “sexual connotations”.
– I think most people think of rape as sexy, she said, and said that she herself considers what she claims to have experienced a “fight”.
Trump claims to have perceived that she took a positive stance on rape during the interview.
– She actually indicated that she loved it, he is quoted as saying in the certificate.
– I actually think she said it was sexy, didn’t she? She said it’s sexy to be raped. Didn’t she say that?
He later emphasizes that he himself does not consider rape to be sexy, and that he does not remember exactly which words were used in the CNN interview.
– Fears only one person
Will stop lawsuits
The author’s accusation first appeared in a book in 2019.
She has since sued him twice: First for defamation, after he counterattacked. When New York in November allowed victims of sexual crimes to sue their abusers even after the statute of limitations has expired, she filed another lawsuit.
Over the years, Trump has been accused by dozens of women of various forms of sexual harassment and rape. He has denied all charges.
In his testimony in October, he was asked if he has ever pressured a woman to have sex with him.
– The answer is no. But you may have someone, like your client, who is willing to lie, he replied bluntly.
The statement was released just hours after the judge also rejected a request by Trump to dismiss Carroll’s latest lawsuit. Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, has stated that the decision will be appealed. It writes, among others Washington Post.
The trial has already been scheduled. It is scheduled to be held in April.
