REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TASIKMALAYA — The Tasikmalaya City Health Office noted that there have been 16 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) since early 2023. The people in the area are asked to remain vigilant against DHF transmission.
Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division, Tasikmalaya City Health Office, Asep Hendra, said there had been 16 cases of dengue fever. In fact, 2023 is not yet half a month running.
“Earlier this year there were 16 cases of dengue fever in Tasikmalaya City. From the existing cases, there were children and adults,” he said, Friday (1/13/2023).
Nevertheless, Asep said, there had been no reports of deaths from dengue cases earlier this year. However, people in Tasikmalaya City are still asked to be vigilant against DHF transmission. This is because the DHF cases in Tasikmalaya City last year were very high.
He said, there were more than 1,800 cases of dengue fever in Tasikmalaya City throughout 2022. Of the nearly 2,000 cases, 28 deaths were dominated by children.
Asep appealed to the public to pay attention to cleanliness in their respective environments. This is because the main factors for dengue transmission are environmental hygiene and human behavior.
“We still urge the public to be vigilant. This disease is caused by behavior in the environment,” he said.
