Weather in Gironde: mild temperatures, there are more seasons!

At the end of December 2022 and the beginning of January 2023, very mild temperatures were recorded in South Gironde.

In the Entre-deux-Mers, wood pigeons and cranes go north; the flowers of the garden (narcissi, roses, snowdrops) come out; the hens lay almost every day; some shrubs and trees are budding; the mimosas are almost in bloom…

Wood pigeons being very numerous in wintering in the great South-West, the thousands of wood pigeons observed, in particular on New Year’s Day, were perhaps in search of food.

In an underground quarry in Benauge, a bat seemed to be in hibernation. Given the current weather, we will have to change the name of the “snowdrop” flower…
