District Prosecutor’s Office – Pazardzhik charged M.I., 35 years old, for the fact that on 16.12 20022 in Plovdiv, he illegally took a car from the possession of another, namely a 28-year-old woman, as the car was abandoned in Pazardzhik and the act was committed again – a crime under Art. 346 par. 2 pt. 1 prel. 2 and item 2 proposal 3rd sentence with para. 1 st. Art. 28 para. 1 of the NC.
In the case, it was established that M.I. took the car in front of a housing cooperative in Plovdiv, while the victim was preparing her child to get into it. The car had a running engine and M.I. got into it very quickly, then drove to Pazardzhik. A signal was immediately sent to 112.
A pre-trial proceeding was instituted and, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, numerous investigative actions and search operations were carried out to identify the car and the perpetrator.
The car was later found at a gas station on the Trakia highway in the region of Pazardzhik. As a result of the investigative actions, the perpetrator was identified and detained today – 13.01.2023, in his residence.
Several expert reports have been drawn up in the case, and according to the forensic evaluation report, the value of the car amounts to BGN 228,900. The investigation continues in the case. M.I. is detained by decree of the supervising prosecutor for a period of up to 72 hours.
On Monday, 16.01.2023, RP-Pazardzhik will submit a request to the court to take a measure of remand “detention in custody” against him. The car will be returned to the victim. Actions to establish the overall criminal activity of the perpetrator continue.
