How is bizarre rap?
Bizarrap (Gonzalo Julián Conde, 24) is a member of Argentina’s exploding Latin trap scene. He is the man behind the popular YouTube series “Bzrp Music Sessions”. During these one-off performances, which are recorded live in his studio in Barcelona, he collaborates with a singer or MC while creating the trap beats. In 2022, his “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52”, featuring Spanish rapper Quevedo, was released with 88.3 million streams on Spotify, that recording made it to number 1 on the platform’s Global Songs chart.
The sessions have become coveted status symbols and not just for up-and-coming rappers. Dubstep producer Skrillex, one of Bizarrap’s early influences, also dropped by to jam with the talented newcomer. Shakira has been following Bizarrap on social media for some time and thanks to this collaboration with her, he now also scores his first hit in the US.
