iPhone 16 Pro Has a Face ID Sensor Under the Screen?

KOMPAS.com – iPhone 15 not yet announced by Apple. However, rumors about the iPhone 16 have surfaced in cyberspace.

Like the iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 16 is also believed to be present in regular and Pro models. Now, for the iPhone 16 Pro, Apple is said to be equipping the cellphone with features Face ID below the screen.

This means that the Apple camera and a number of sensors supporting the FaceID iPhone 16 Pro will not appear on the front of the device.

According to a South Korean media outlet, The ElecApple will start moving a number of Face ID supporting components to the bottom of the iPhone screen in 2024.

The Elec also mentioned that Apple will continue to maintain bangs or notch on the iPhone 16 Pro even though the Face ID sensor is moved to the bottom of the screen.

Other news says that if the transfer of Face ID to the bottom of the screen is successful and gets a positive response from the market, then Apple will cancel it notch or dynamic island so that the display of the cellphone is dominated by the collected screen KompasTekno from MacRumors, Friday (13/1/2023).

Market analyst Ross Young, once said that Apple will introduce a new screen technology or other technology on the Pro models every year, to differentiate them from non-Pro models.

The practice is the same as the duo iPhone 14 Pro which is equipped with a sophisticated screen notch called Dynamic Island, while non-Pro models (iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus) still carry a notched screen like the iPhone 13 series.

Rumors about Face ID under the screen itself have actually been sticking out even before the iPhone 14 was released by Apple. In April 2022, an analyst who often leaks Apple products, Ming-Chi Kuo stated that a full-screen iPhone would be present in 2024 or for the iPhone 16.

At that time, Kuo claimed that the iPhone 16 would be equipped with an under-screen selfie camera and under-screen Face ID as well.

“I think a real full-screen iPhone will arrive in 2024. A high-end iPhone in 2024 will adopt an under-screen front camera and under-screen Face ID,” Kuo tweeted via his personal Twitter handle, handle @mingchikuo.

Meanwhile, Apple has not provided any news about the iPhone 16.
