The Ministry of Health will give hepatitis B antivirals to pregnant women

Pilot activities for administering the anti-vaccine will be carried out in several districts/cities. This is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Health (Kepmenkes) Number HK.01.07/MENKES/15/2023.

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate will be given to pregnant women with positive HBsAg with a minimum viral level of 200,000 IU/mL (5.3 log10 IU/mL) or with positive hepatitis B e-Antigen (HBeAg) during the third trimester of pregnancy up to 1 month after delivery. Administration to positive HBsAg pregnant women is carried out by trained general practitioners or internal medicine specialists and carried out by a work team determined by the head of the health service facility (fasyankes).

Implementation of the Kepmenkes will be carried out in 2022-2023. The areas targeted for implementation of this pilot project are:
1. Bandung City Hospital and Arcamanik Health Center in Bandung City, West Java;
2. Cengkareng Health Center and Taman Sari West Jakarta Hospital, Tanah Abang Health Center and Kemayoran Hospital, Central Jakarta, Kebayoran Lama Health Center and Tebet Hospital South Jakarta, Cakung Health Center and Kramat Jati Hospital East Jakarta, Tanjung Priok Health Center and Koja Hospital North Jakarta, DKI Jakarta ;
3. Sudiang Raya Community Health Center and Laburan Baji Hospital, Makassar City, South Sulawesi;
4. Sememi Health Center, Wonokusumo Health Center, dr. Mohamad Soewandhie, and dr. Soetomo City of Surabaya, East Java;
5. Hospital Hj. Abdul Moeloek, Way Kandis Health Center, and Gedong Air Health Center, Bandar Lampung City, Lampung; as well as
6. Pekauman Community Health Center, Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan.
