During this year’s Lunar New Year holiday (21-24), it was found that there are many people planning short-distance travel.

Timon announced on the 13th that as a result of analyzing travel categories from the 1st to the 10th ahead of the Lunar New Year, short-distance travel trends such as domestic travel, day-night travel and travel to Japan stood out.

Due to the short holiday period and the weak yen phenomenon, it was investigated that during the Lunar New Year holiday period, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, in order of popularity, were looking for overseas flights.

Overseas travel sales soared 4,721% compared to last year’s holiday season.

Domestic travel sales also increased by 30%, which is 42% higher than in 2020, before the corona.

Sales of one-day travel products without overnight stays also increased by 314%, and sales of water park and spa products enjoyed outdoors in winter also increased by 1,162%.

Timon explained, “This year’s New Year’s holiday period is short, so it seems that demand for short-distance travel has increased rather than long-distance travel.”
