TOI 700e has dimensions similar to those of our planet.
NASA believes it has managed to identify with the TESS satellite (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) the second exoplanet that may present the right conditions to be inhabited by human beings.
The available information indicates that the planet in question – TOI 700e – is in the habitable zone of a system named TOI 700, which has a dwarf star at its center. This system is 100 light years away from Earth.
TOI 700e is 95% the size of our Earth and takes 28 days to circle its star completely. Scientists believe that this planet has the right conditions to support surface water, a necessary ingredient for life to exist.
