The President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, accompanied by Mayor Jorge Ferraresi, presented the National Insurance for Volunteer Firefighters at the Avellaneda Volunteer Fire Department.
This coverage, developed through the coordinated work between the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation, the National Council of Firefighters, Banco Nación and Nación Seguros, includes compensation for death, permanent total or partial disability, pharmaceutical medical assistance and burial expenses. for more than 58,000 men and women who make up the country’s volunteer fire brigades.
The initiative was developed within the framework of a new Law to Strengthen the National System of Volunteer Firefighters No. 27,629, promoted by legislator Eduardo “Bali” Bucca.
“Avellaneda is the city with the largest number of firefighters per inhabitant,” Ferraresi highlighted in his speech. And he congratulated the firefighters present for “their vocation to serve others” and because “they transmit that vocation from generation to generation.” “I have great admiration for his work. They are the best of ours”, said the community chief of Avellaneda.
Then, Bali Bucca said: “This law gives answers to families and takes care of those who take care of us.” In addition, he explained that “the State’s investment is $1.5 billion in this acquisition of rights.”
In closing, President Fernández stated: “It is pleasant to be in the National Capital of Soccer and meet with you because they represent the best of the community, because they put everything of themselves, risking their lives.”
He also recalled that “in Avellaneda the fourth Fire Department of Argentina was founded.” At the same time, he highlighted the management of Jorge Ferraresi as mayor and as Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat of the Nation.
