Jaguar I-PACE has won more than 90 global awards since its debut, including an unprecedented triple win at the 2019 World Car of the Year, where it won Car Design of the Year, Green Car of the Year and World Car of the Year.
Thanks to a low center of gravity, advanced suspension systems and a compact, efficient electric motor on each axle, I-PACE offers balanced all-wheel drive, refinement and agility, complemented by impressive autonomy, excellent comfort and ideal suitability for everyday driving. Technologies and features are constantly being improved through remote updates, and this process will continue.
“The car, which has been awarded many times for innovative and practical solutions, has retained its strongest characteristics and, after updating the appearance and revising the packages, has become even more attractive and even more customer-oriented,” says Jakub Brodevičs, marketing manager for the Baltic region of Jaguar Land Rover.
Now I-PACE has been refined and has a more expressive design, richer equipment, as well as R-Dynamic models. In addition, two matte metallic colors have been added to the shade palette for the first time.
“I-PACE has always offered exactly the all-round performance, agility, technology and everyday usability that Jaguar customers have come to expect. And now it’s all combined with the smooth, quiet and easy driving offered by electrification. All this is perfectly visible here. The latest model perfectly demonstrates the bonuses that our aim to offer even more sophisticated and rich equipment opens up. Looking ahead, we are leveraging the knowledge gained from our electric car programs and the rapid technology development made possible by our collaboration with the Jaguar TCS Racing team. And our aim remains to transform Jaguar into an all-electric modern luxury brand from 2025,” says Nick Collins, executive director of Jaguar Land Rover’s automotive programmes.
Refreshed design
I-PACE’s design has been refined with subtle, carefully thought-out enhancements that create an even stronger contemporary effect. The front grille now has a sleeker shape and is finished in an expressive Atlas Gray color. The grille has replaced the previously used glossy black diamond pattern, so the front of the car now looks simpler, cleaner, while reinforcing the model’s electric DNA. Atlas Gray is also applied to the decorative panels of the front bumper openings. The Jaguar emblem in the grille has also undergone changes – it has been given a new black and silver color.
The front bumper, door sills and rear diffuser are now body color instead of gloss black. This solution serves to simplify and refine the design, while visually reducing the mass. Models including the 400 SPORT feature a discreet rear spoiler that seamlessly but effectively reflects the I-PACE’s performance and dynamic potential (also standard on all other models equipped with 22-inch wheels).
All wheel rims offered as standard on the I-PACE now have a special finish with a so-called milled effect. The striking 22-inch Style 5069 wheels, on the other hand, feature a Satin Gray finish that visually complements its carbon fiber inserts. All 22-inch wheels can be equipped with self-sealing all-season tires.
These updates are perfectly complemented by the Black Pack exterior. Now standard on all models starting with the R-Dynamic SE, the front grille and window surrounds, door mirror housings and rear badging are finished in gloss black.
There’s also the option of a contrasting panoramic roof, which for the first time allows customers to get a black finish at the rear of the roof to extend the wide glass panel (until now it was body-coloured).
For the first time, buyers are also offered the matte colors – Eiger Gray and the new Carpathian Grey.
Performance and dynamics
With light, compact and efficient electric motors integrated in the front and rear axles, the I-PACE can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
The I-PACE’s 90 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of up to 470 km (WLTP). Using the rapidly growing network of public stations, a 100 kW DC charger increases the range by 127 km in just 15 minutes (WLTP).
Customers who have a three-phase electricity connection and an 11 kW home charger can increase the distance covered in an hour by 53 km (WLTP); a full charge takes just over 8 hours. In markets where there is a single-phase connection, a 7 kW home station can get 35 km of reserve per hour and fully charge the battery in almost 13 hours.
To make the most of the lower electricity tariff hours, the Low Cost Hours Only economic charging function has been introduced: simply set the start and end time according to the most favorable tariff – usually at night, and charging will only take place during this time.
It is also possible to set the charging to stop when the battery reaches a certain level, for example 80 percent. This is especially useful when using public stations, as it can only replenish enough to get you to your destination.
Cabin climate pre-conditioning is another easy-to-use technology that increases driving comfort. While the car is plugged in, it automatically heats or cools the battery to the ideal temperature. The same is ensured in the cabin, so when the journey begins, the temperature inside is perfect. Using electricity from the grid instead of the battery is more energy efficient and increases autonomy. Along with other configurable charging functions, the cabin climate can be preset via the car’s touchscreen or the Jaguar Remote app – which has also been updated and is now even easier.
The I-PACE’s spacious interior has all the necessary technology to make every trip enjoyable. All models feature a fast, intuitive Pivi Pro infotainment system that offers seamless connectivity with wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto, integrated Spotify and what3words navigation. Plus, thanks to over-the-air software updates, Pivi Pro, like other systems, always runs on the latest version.
