The vaccine against the HPV virus reduces the possibility of the vaccinated person becoming infected with the virus. ‘Many people unknowingly carry the HPV virus with them and are unaware of it. However, it is quite contagious and even people who are unaware of it can transmit the virus,” says a spokesperson for the GGD. “The transmission of the virus occurs through intimate contacts, such as sex, but also by making love or kissing,” adds the spokesman.
