A 13-year-old girl collapsed and suffered an epileptic seizure in front of a private hospital in Burgas, after the family had previously visited several medical facilities in the hope that the little girl would be hospitalised. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening and a relative of the family gave the news. At the moment, however, the girl is hospitalized in the pediatric ward of the University Hospital. The director of RZI-Burgas also had to intervene. The child is now in stable condition, but the case is under investigation
The 13-year-old girl’s fainting came after they spent nearly 3 hours touring 3 hospitals with their relatives on Tuesday night feeling unwell. They insisted that she be admitted for treatment. There were no places in one of the hospitals. They were referred to the emergency room of UMBAL-Burgas. From there they were sent to the emergency room.
“They protest that they’re not paying attention because the baby keeps dropping out and literally softening.” A woman also comes to question her. Doctor. They explain her symptoms and ask her if she’s had seizures. Apparently, she must be in convulsions to pay attention to her, ”says Ivan Ivanov, the girl’s uncle.
The relatives left the office and went to another private hospital. There, doctors deemed that the girl, who had recently undergone orthopedic surgery, did not need to be hospitalized and referred her for home care.
“But the child still does not receive this help and literally dies in our hands. And already in front of the hospital the little girl collapses, falls to the ground without moving, all blue and frozen,” says the girl’s uncle.
The owner of the private hospital specified that the doctor on duty called an ambulance by calling 112 to take the child to the emergency room. He explained the refusal of hospitalization thus: “Because there are various accompanying pathologies, plus a recent orthopedic operation. And since we do not have a specialization, neither “Orthopedics” nor “Neurosurgery”, and she has tingling in her limbs – the colleague on duty he estimated that he will need these consultations there and it is more logical that he is in a large general hospital,” emphasizes Alexander Madjurov, director of the “Madurov” Medical Center.
In a written position, UMBAL’s management said the parents came in complaining of the child’s “cold hands”. In the emergency room they established that the case is not urgent and that the child does not require hospitalization, the message also reads. Since there were other emergency patients the doctors were busy with, the girl’s parents refused to wait and left.
The child was hospitalized after the intervention of the director of RZI-Burgas. “I told the man to go directly to UMBAL-Burgas, because I knew there were 8-9 free beds there. At least that was the information from noon. I will also check the case, what, why and how it came about to this,” said Dr. Georgi Pazderov, director of RZI-Burgas.
The boy’s condition is stable today, reports the Children’s Department. Tests are good, no fever, no evidence of viral or other infection. No complaints.
