According to media reports, Arsenal FC want to strengthen their defense in the current transfer period. It appears the Gunners are targeting an old acquaintance of head coach Mikel Arteta.
According to the Sport newspaper, the Spanish coach would be interested in Eric Garcia (22) of FC Barcelona. Arteta has known the central defender from his time together with Manchester City. Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach at the Sky Blues for almost four years, Garcia played in the British youth academy from 2017 to 2019 and in the first team for the following two years.
While Garcia heeded the call of his training club FC Barcelona in 2021, having left for England in 2017, Arteta took charge of Arsenal FC in December 2019.

On a sporting level, Londoners could certainly appeal to Garcia. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish international defender will leave his native country for the second time in the direction of the island.
Eric Garcia: release clause of 400 million euros
One thing is clear: against Barcelona’s will, Arsenal can recover a commitment from the defender, his contract is still dated until 2026, the prescribed release clause in Spain is a good 400 million euros.
