IN There is currently no nationwide flu holiday. Health authorities are addressing the situation, it is being monitored by the district. This was stated after a government meeting of Health and Education Ministers Asen Medzhidiev and Sasho Penov, reported DarikNews.bg.
“Since there is currently no peak of the flu epidemic, it is rather expected in 10-15 days,
therefore, our decisions are to take measures in the relevant areas, not on a national scale. Together with the Ministry of Education, we made a decision to launch a short-term vacation for the Burgas region, which was also the opinion of the local authorities,” Medzhidiev explained and added: “Let people not get confused – it’s not about the previous COVID situation, but it was about a normal flu wave, which we have to remember that before COVID-19 there was almost every year.”
For his part, Education Minister Sasho Penov specified that the days from January 12 to January 17 in Burgas will be declared non-school days, without training in the electronic environment.
“Four days will not seriously affect the teaching of academic subjects. If the situation becomes even more complicated and a second interruption of the educational process becomes necessary, then we will already discuss the continuation of education in an electronic environment,” Penov stressed.
The education minister summed up that they will have the same approach per district
– the first step is non-school days, and the second step is to resort to learning in an electronic environment if the opportunity for a new extension is provided.
No special measures are required, line ministers said
and asked to avoid gatherings of many people in one place, to avoid shopping centers and cinemas, and the use of masks is desirable.
