Social networking site pioneers have circulated a video clip of Sheikh Yasser Al-Saleh reciting verses from the Holy Quran in condolences to the son of Syrian singer George Wassouf in his hometown of Kafroun in Syria.
According to reports, the recitation of the verses took place at the direct request of the Sultan of Tarab, George Wassouf.
In his statement, Sheikh Yasser Al-Saleh said, “This is not the first time he has been asked to do this, as he was previously asked to recite Surat Maryam in his mother’s condolences.”
Al-Saleh pointed out that the artist, George Wassouf, “memorizes from the Book of God, and when I read Surat Maryam to him on one of the previous visits, he used to repeat it with me.”
Syrian artist, George Wassouf, earlier announced the death of his son, ‘Wadih’, on his official Twitter page, which left widespread grief among his followers.
Extensive social media interaction
The reading of the Quran at the funeral of Abu Wadih’s son sparked widespread interaction on social media.
Many spoke of coexistence after the appearance of the sheikh and a priest next to him who sang hymns, in their message about national unity, and that there is always tolerance and love between heavenly religions.
Others questioned George Wassouf’s religion, after circulating a clip of an earlier interview with Lebanese journalist Nishan.
Abu Wadih said at the time, “I am not a Christian and I fulfill the call to prayer at my home.”
While tweeters criticized all those who asked about singer George Wassouf’s religion.
Sahar Nasser said, “Disgusting and disgusting is the person who comments on people’s pains, misfortunes, tragedies and oppression while they are yelling and mocking them saying that he is of another religion. You have no religion if you are not merciful and your heart does not shed tears at the scene of the death of a son buried by his father and mother”.
Funeral rites
A controversy has arisen among the tweeters about the way the coffin is transported and the funeral rites of the Christians of Lebanon. Some have criticized it, others have defended it.
Alwa Muhammad said, “The funeral has its majesty and respect in all countries of the world except the Christians of Lebanon. The funeral in Sabah, and then the funeral of George Al-Rassi, and now the funeral of George’s son , Wassouf . I don’t know how they dance in the coffin to the music?”
But the answer came from Rosa, who said: “They denounced the funeral rituals of George Wassouf’s son and praised our Lord for the blessing of Islam, and initially they don’t understand why they did it… Today, Abu Wadih asked a sheikh to read a Koran at the funeral. They didn’t like it either, and they cursed the sheikh who read it.” “.
On Saturday, George Wassouf received condolences from his eldest son, Wadih, and a large number of stars wanted to share his condolences, including Haifa Wehbe, Najwa Karam, Nancy Ajram, Abed Fahd, Nassif Zeitoun, media Nishan and others star .
Lebanese actress, Haifa Wehbe said, “The news is heartbreaking, Wadih George Wassouf, peace to your soul, may God give patience to your heart, Abu Wadih. The pain is great and the separation is difficult.”
For his part, Syrian actor Abed Fahd commented: “It is sad news. God does not grieve anyone with his children. May God give you patience and strength, Abu Wadih, so that his memory may be eternal.”
