Supposed sightings have occurred, along with tracks that some believe are proof of their existence. This is what we know.
What is bigfoot?
The Bigfoot mystery has caused a stir for hundreds of years.
The mythical beast is believed to be seven to ten feet tall and weigh over 35 stones, with footprints 17 inches long.
One of the earliest Bigfoot discoveries dates back to 1811, when British explorer David Thompson found large footprints that were attributed to the creature.
What did the FBI say?
New FBI documents have revealed that FBI scientists had carried out scientific tests on “hair or fur” said to have come from the mythical ape-man.
The FBI released 22 documents from its archive to the public on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, including its bulky 22-page Bigfoot file.
Peter Byrne, then director of the Bigfoot Information Center, wrote a letter in 1976 asking the FBI to “set the record straight, once and for all.”
His call came after the office was reported to have tested hair or fur that was not identifiable as “that of any known creature on this continent.”
However, it was later learned that the hair was of deer origin.
Have there been any new Bigfoot sightings?

The footage was sent to the Rocky Mountain Sasquatch Organization by a person identified as “Eddie V.”
In February 2020, two hikers filmed footage of Bigfoot strolling through a park in Ohio.
