Microsoft ends support for Windows 8.1 effective January 10

MOSCOW.NIAGA.ASIA — Microsoft Corporation on January 10, 2023 officially discontinued support for the Windows 8.1 operating system, according to a corporate announcement in-bloghis.

After January 10, 2023, no technical support will be provided to users of the system for any reason, and no software and security system updates will be available.

However, computers running these operating systems will still work, but there will be no further updates. In this case, the company recommends doing so update to an operating system version that is still supported, such as Windows 11.

Also, starting January 10, users will no longer be able to purchase and install apps and games from Microsoft Store on your computer running Windows 8.1.

New version navigator support Windows 8.1 is Microsoft Edge version 109, which is expected to be released after January 12th.

Microsoft introduced the Windows 8.1 operating system in 2013. This system was primarily intended for touchscreen PCs, but it also supports computers bodies.
