The Federal Government Human Resources Authority held an expanded meeting attended by 80 assistant undersecretaries and executive directors from the support services sectors and directors of strategy and future in federal government agencies, during which the initiative “Ready “for the future of government talent, approved by the Council of Ministers chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, last November, and reviewed the entity’s performance during the early stages of the project, focused on empowering UAE government employees with future skills in the fields of cyber security and digital transformation.
The initiative team also reviewed guidance from the UAE government leadership focusing on investment in human capital and discussed guidance from the ‘Ready’ initiative, which represents a transformation blueprint of basis implemented at the level of the federal government, and its characteristics and the most important results it seeks to achieve, the most important of which is the development of the performance of the authorities in enhancing the human resources enablers and the talent of the government.
The meeting addressed developments in the implementation of the initiative through its adoption under the evaluation criteria of the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance in the future readiness criterion and its adoption in the system of human resource enablers in the federal government, and the job performance appraisal system, as well as include the results of the initiative’s implementation in an attainment rate report Government agency employees receive future competency badges, which are submitted periodically to the Council of Ministers.
The meeting discussed the axes of the Honorable Cabinet’s decision to approve the project and the scope and mechanism of its application to government agencies, and addressed the importance of the project in developing the readiness of the government and its cadres to to achieve the goals of the “We Are the Emirates 2031” vision.
“Ready” aims to improve the readiness of national cadres and talent in the federal government for the future and to empower them with the new skills needed to design the future and benefit from its opportunities, through an integrated digital platform for future skills, which supports the government’s future readiness and increases the participation of its cadres in the implementation of leadership visions by building a future model of government that pioneers globally and enhancing the UAE’s performance, productivity, efficiency and future readiness.
Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, interim director general of the government’s Federal Human Resources Authority, confirmed that the Government’s “Ready…Future of Talent” initiative is one of the leading national initiatives for developing and upgrading of government human resources, enhancing their capabilities and qualifying them to keep pace with rapid global change, anticipate future opportunities, and help shape and create a better future for the state.
Laila Al-Suwaidi said: The “Ready” initiative has achieved, under the cybersecurity skills model proposed with the launch of the initiative, a large participation, which has translated into the award of the cybersecurity skill badge to about 7,000 attendees from federal government employees.
He emphasized that the “Ready” initiative embodies the aspirations and direction of wise leadership as it pertains to improving the efficiency of human capital in the federal government, developing its capabilities and honing its talents, emphasizing that the initiative contributes significantly to improving the readiness of employees of federal ministries and agencies for the future, focusing on their acquisition of advanced qualitative skills in many vital and strategic areas.
He said the ‘Ready’ initiative adds to the series of strategic initiatives launched by the UAE government in recent years, which aim to improve the country’s competitiveness and the efficiency of its government institutions, underlining that the initiative contributes to increase the attractiveness of the federal government work environment.

4 futuristic skill sets
The “Jahez” digital platform provides all federal government employees with 4 sets of future skills, which include 20 future skills, to be completed within one year. The core skillset includes: digital skills, X10 skills to improve productivity and accelerate delivery, as well as data and AI skills and new economy skills.
The platform includes a digital Future Skills Portfolio for each government employee, representing a comprehensive profile linking the employee’s achievements in skill acquisition with job performance. Platform participants receive achievement badges upon completion of Future Skills requirements .
The platform includes 15 strategic partners from elite government agencies and international companies, who deliver specialized, practical and flexible content through the Ready initiative’s intelligent platform, empowering employees to acquire the most important future skills through two paths dedicated to building future skills. the former focuses on the leadership level in government agencies and the latter develops the skills of the future for government employees at other job levels.
