Commission for the Elimination of Corruption (KPK extension) arrested the governor of Papua Luca Enembe (THE). KPK President Firli Bahuri said Lukas Enembe was planning to leave Indonesia.
“KPK received information that suspect LE went to Mamit Tolikara on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, via Sentani Airport,” Firli said in his statement, on Tuesday (10/1/2023).
“It could be a way for suspect LE to leave Indonesia,” he added.
After receiving this information, the KPK coordinated with Papua Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Ramdani Hidayat, Papua Police Mobile Brigade Dansat Kombes Budi Satrijo, Papua Region Head Major General Gustav Agus Irianto, to assist in the arrest of Lukas Enembe.
Lukas Enembe was also arrested at Sentani Airport at around 12:27am WIT. It was suspected that Lukas Enembe was about to leave Jayapura.
“Suspect LE was arrested at Sentani Airport as he was leaving Jayapura,” he said.
Afterwards, Lukas Enembe was taken to Papua Mobile Brigade HQ for safekeeping before being flown to Jakarta at 15:00 WIT. Lukas Enembe flew to Jakarta using Trigana Air with a transit in Manado.
“Brother LE will undergo medical examination at RSPAD accompanied by KPK team upon arrival in Jakarta,” he said.
