The arrest of the governor of Papua Luca Enembe from the KPK was the colorful chaos. The National Police ensured that his staff remained on high alert after Lukas Enembe was flown to Jakarta.
“However, the TNI-Polri security forces are standing by in anticipation of today’s incident,” National Police Inspector General Public Relations Division Chief Dedi Prasetyo told reporters on Tuesday (10/1/ 2023).
Dedi said the situation in Papua is currently still favourable.
“Generally it has been favorable, the latest information from the Wakapolda,” he said.
Earlier, Papua governor Lukas Enembe was arrested KPK extension at lunch. Two locations in Jayapura city, Papua, were in chaos when Lukas was arrested. The colons were in favor after the police forces pushed back the masses.
Public relations manager Papua Police Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo said the first riot occurred at 3rd Junction Jalan Raya Kotaraja, Abepura, Jayapura at around 1.30pm WIT. At that time, the masses, who were sympathetic to Lukas Enembe, tried to enter the Satbrimob Polda Papua headquarters, but were rejected by the authorities.
“At the time of the arrest there was commotion in the mobile brigade headquarters in Kotaraja,” said Kombes Ignatius, reported detikSulselTuesday (10/1).
Sympathizers of the masses tried to enter the headquarters of the Papuan police mobile brigade because Lukas had been taken there. However, as soon as Lukas was taken to Sentani Airport, Jayapura, the mob also followed him and threw stones.
“Then after LE or KPK moved to the airport, there were groups who raided Sentani airport,” he said.
