The 10-month prison sentence for two child rapists in Lahat, South Sumatra was criticized by several quarters, one of which was Hotman Paris. Kajari Lahat is now temporarily disabled following the modest charge of 7 months in prison in the child rape case.
The two actors are OH (17) and MAP (17) and GA (18). However, GA is currently still under investigation by the Lahat Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
Initially the culprits were charged less by the prosecutor, i.e. 7 months in prison, and the judge of the Lahat District Court was sentenced to a higher sentence than what the prosecutor requested, i.e. 10 months. However, the verdict and the demands still draw criticism from many sides.

The beginning of the case
The rape and assault took place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at a guest house in Lahat. Long story short, this case was tried in the Lahat District Court.
The prosecutor sentenced the two perpetrators to 7 months in prison, then at the sentencing hearing the panel judges the two perpetrators of rape with the initials OH and MAP guilty of having violated the law regulating sexual relations with minors and were jailed for 10 months.
The victim’s father did not accept the verdict. The victim’s father then uploaded a video. In the video, the victim’s father requests legal assistance from various parties, especially President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“I am a parent of a victim of rape and violence. This punishment is not comparable to the suffering and consequences for my child, trauma for life. As a poor person, I ask the President for justice,” said the victim’s father. detikSumatraThursday (5/1/2023).
