Roberto Dinamite, a former representative of Brazilian football, has died at the age of 68. Carlos Roberto de Oliveira, top scorer in the history of the Brazilian championship with 190 goals, has died of cancer. This was reported by the AFP agency.

“Vasco da Gama received with great regret the news that the greatest of them all passed away on Sunday. Carlos Roberto de Oliveira, alias Dynamite, gave the club 29 of his 68 years as player and president. Rest in peace.” the Rio de Janeiro club said on Twitter.

Dinamite went through the youth selections of Vasco da Gama, played for the A team in the years 1971-1979 and 1980-1993, meanwhile he worked briefly at FC Barcelona. In the top Brazilian competition, he still holds the record for the number of accurate shots (190). In the national team he scored 20 goals in 38 games, played at the 1978 and 1982 World Cups.

After retirement, he served as president of Vasco and served five terms as a member of parliament for the state of Rio de Janeiro.
