The original cover design of “Tim in America” can be admired in Brussels for a short time

The Tintin en Amérique album cover is the 1942 version for the second edition, published 10 years after the first publication of the adventure.

The auction of this original drawing by Hergé, brainchild of Tintin, is expected to bring some lucrative gains to Brussels auction house Artcurial, estimated at between 2.2 and 3.2 million euros.

With “Tim in America” Hergé, whose real name is Georges Remi, drew one of the best-known adventures of the “flying journalist” Tim. This is also one of 9 comics that first appeared in black and white only.

In 1946 the title picture was colored for the first time, because since then all other issues have been published in color. In total, Hergé designed 24 Tintin albums.
