Previously installed versions of Windows 8.1 will continue to work after Microsoft ends support. This is stated by experts interviewed by RIA Novosti.
At the same time, experts indicate that users may encounter problems in this area in the future.
On Monday, Microsoft announced that it would stop supporting the Windows 8.1 operating system on January 10 and that technical assistance and software updates would not be provided.
“The installed versions of Windows 8.1 will work, there will be no changes with them. It’s just that a person using this version of the system will not be able to get official support. Some updates will come out in terms of security, critical vulnerabilities. They are coming out, but it is better to update to newer versions”, – recommended by a leading Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin.
As the MForum Analytics analyst predicts Alexey Boyko, the version without updates will be able to work “indefinitely, but over time problems may arise when using this operating system, in particular problems may arise when accessing certain sites”.
