Taha Ali leaves HIF for MFF

Taha Ali doesn’t follow Helsingborgs IF to super. It is now clear that the winger will be leaving to continue playing at Allsvenskan and worst rivals Malmö FF.

The transition became official in conjunction with MFF’s first training held on Monday evening at the Malmö IP. The 24-year-old’s contract with the Azzurri extends through the 2026 season.

– I am a gamer who loves to be creative and find solutions. My main strengths are playing one-on-one and putting my teammates in good positions, he tells the MFF website.

– Last year I should have scored more points, but it was a learning experience and overall a good season. I bring many positives with me into this new chapter of my career.

He continues:

– The football that represents MFF, now also with (Henrik) Rydström at the helm, is attractive and suits me. I think I can grow and achieve a lot. All the prerequisites are there. I can’t wait to debut in the MFF shirt and show why I’m here.

Sporting director Daniel Andersson on the new signing:

– Taha Ali is a player that we have followed over the years and that Henrik Rydström also wanted to include. We understand the importance of good one-on-one players and when Veljko (Birmancevic) left we lost some of that piece of the puzzle. He is a humble but very determined boy who always wants to move forward. He had to fight hard to keep going and he will continue to do so here. With our coaching team, we hope to be able to develop it to the last piece.

The deal is good for new super-one club HIF, says sporting director Andreas Granqvist.

– It’s never fun when good players leave the association, but we make a good deal for Helsingborgs IF and we are satisfied, he told the association’s website.

Taha Ali joined Helsingborgs IF earlier last season and was responsible for three goals and two assists in 29 games as HIF exited Allsvenskan. Previously, he played for Örebro SK, Västerås SK, Sollentuna FK and IFK Stocksund.
