All plans offered through the Marketplace cover doctor visits, hospital stays, emergency care, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, prescription drugs, rehabilitation and rehabilitation services and devices, laboratory services, prevention and wellness services, chronic disease management, pediatric dentistry and vision.

There are three ways to sign up for a health insurance plan through the Marketplace:

1. Request personalized assistance. You can find this help at info.nystateofhealth.ny.gov/findassistor.

2. Call the New York State Customer Service Center at 1-855-355-5777.

3. You can do it online at NYStateOfHealth.ny.govand you can use the chat function on the website to complete your request, which is available during customer service center opening hours.

Certified Enrollment Assistants are available free of charge to guide you through the enrollment process and determine if you are eligible for financial assistance to help pay for your plan. They are available throughout New York State and work flexible hours.

Additionally, the New York State Customer Service Center is ready to assist you with 170 bilingual Spanish-speaking representatives.

Those who sign up before January 15, 2023 will begin their coverage on February 1.

Users who sign up between January 16 and January 31, 2023 will have coverage starting March 1.

12 insurers offer Qualified Health Plans (QHP) and 12 insurers offer the Essential Plan in 2023.

NY State of Health offers four tier Qualified Health Plans (QHPs): Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Platinum plans generally have the highest premiums and the highest stakes low.

All NY State of Health plans include free preventive care for annual checkups and screenings. Many also include three free or low-cost visits to a primary/sickness care provider. This benefit ensures that you can get medical help when you need it, without worrying about the costs.

The Essential plan will continue to offer coverage with no monthly premium, no deductible, and low cost sharing, and will include vision and dental benefits for all members.

It is important to note that significantly expanded federal tax credits will still be available to New Yorkers who enroll in Qualified Health Plans (QHP) in 2023.

Originally enacted through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and extended through August through the Reduction of Inflation Act (Inflation Reduction Act), these benefits provide New Yorkers an average of $1,450 to reduce the cost of their monthly premium, and are also available to people on higher incomes.
