A setback for India, Bumrah will not play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka

New Delhi: Indian cricket team preparing for ODI series against Sri Lanka has suffered setback. Superstar Jasprit Bumrah will not play. BCCI made it known. It was reported that Bumrah, who was suffering from injury, will be back in the Indian squad via the ODI series against Sri Lanka after a long rest.

But the BCCI made the decision not to include Bumrah in the team. BCCI informed that Bumrah will be included in the squad after demonstrating his bowling fitness. Bumrah was dropped from the squad as a precaution. The BCCI has released this news as Bumrah will join the Indian team who are training for ODIs in Guwahati.

Bumrah last wore an Indian shirt in September 2022. The player was injured during the series against Australia. Bumrah sat out the Asian Cup and Twenty20 World Cup that followed.

Bumrah’s replacement for the ODI series is yet to be announced. Currently, Mohammad Siraj, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami and Hardik Pandya line up in Indian bowling section. The ODI series against Sri Lanka consists of three matches. The first game of the series will be played on January 10
