Mexican striker Alicia “Licha” Cervantes led the “little hand” of the Sacred Flock against the Pumas with a hat-trick, thus surpassing the hundred goals in national football. Defending champions Tigres make their debut tonight against Atlas.
The Clausura 2023 of the Liga MX Femenil kicked off this weekend and did so in spectacular fashion, opening the doors of its history to the Chivas del Guadalajara striker, Alicia Cervantes, who already surpasses the 100 goals mark in the top circuit.
The teams of Querétaro and Pachuca were in charge of inaugurating the competition at the Alameda Olimpico Stadium, where the Tuzas achieved the minimum victory thanks to a goal by the figure of Charlyn Corral.
Friday evening continued with the magic of women’s football in Mexico from the Akron stadium in Zapopan Jalisco, where Chivas scored a shower of goals with which they prevailed against the Pumas with a score of 5 to 1, led by Mexican striker Alicia Cervantes .
With the number 24, “Licha”, top scorer and leading figure of the Flock, scored a hat-trick, which entered her name in the history books of Mexican football, being the third player to exceed 100 goals, registering a total of 101 hits, the same ones that were the product of 68 strikes with the right leg, 12 with the left leg, and 21 with the head.
Cervantes, already twice anointed goalscoring champion in Mexico, celebrated her feat alongside teammate Carolina Jaramillo, who reached her 50th goal; records that portend a promising Clausura 2023 for the flock.
The championship, however, began with a “Clásico Joven”, between the Máquina de Cruz Azul and the Águilas del América. However, both teams left their fans with a small taste of the work planned for the competition, after recording a draw (1-1).
The debut of the champions
Although the Liga MX Femenil show has already begun, the defending champions have yet to take the stage to defend their crown on home soil, when they receive the Rossoneri’s Atlante this Monday at the Volcán.
For the total closure of the day, the matches of Toluca against Tijuana remain; Necaxa’s visit to León and the match between Santos and Atlético de San Luis.
