Mars Bratberg, Celebrities | Marte Bratberg and her boyfriend have paid for a villa

Last summer, Marte Bratberg (33) and her unnamed boyfriend were on the go again. In spring 2021, the couple moved into their 100 square meter apartment in Oslo’s popular Grünerløkka, but just over a year later The house has been put up for sale.

Despite a rather cold real estate market this fall, he convinced the couple to sell the apartment for an asking price of NOK 9.8 million – two million more than when they bought.

It didn’t happen without chaos, as Bratberg had to pause an entire TV taping in the middle of the bidding round, he said on the “Janka og Marte” podcast in October.

Now it may seem that the couple has found their dream home at Oslo’s Tåsen. According to public property documents to which Nettavisen has access, Bratberg and his girlfriend shelled out NOK 20 million for a single-family home in the trendy area.

Second Nordre Aker Budstikke the house is one of only 36 houses sold for 20 million or more in 2022, in the Nordre Aker district.

Nettavisen has been in contact with Bratberg, who declined to comment.

Desirable area

The house is close to 260 square meters, while the land itself is close to 1,000 square meters.

Carl O. Geving, managing director of the Norwegian Association of Estate Agents, says Tåsen is a very popular area for established families.

– Those who settle here tend to be more established people with families, who want to live in a nice area, with access to a safe and good local environment, says Geving.

He says prices tend to fluctuate a little less in the more expensive segments of the housing market.

– There is little access to this type of housing in Oslo, and the temporary halt to construction and the prospect of severe restrictions on what can be built in single-family residential areas in Oslo mean that access will only get worse over time. That means that this type of housing will become even more attractive and likely rise more in price as a result, Geving says.

– It’ll stabilize

However, he makes no secret of the fact that Tåsen has also been affected by the fluctuations in the housing market and points out that houses worth several tens of millions of crowns have been a bit slower this autumn. However, he expects the price correction to end soon and the market will improve in 2023.

– This type of accommodation is very attractive. Since September last year we have had an ongoing price correction, which creates uncertainty in the market. Some are sitting on the fence when prices fall and some sellers have been waiting for the market to recover, he says, adding:

– Most of the interest rate hike has been eliminated and things will start to stabilize in 2023. This will create more security. Then the road is short enough to get good sales on homes, especially homes that are in short supply and that many are willing to go out of their way to buy, Geving tells Nettavisen.

I didn’t want to leave the city

For Bratberg and his partner, home prices will have less to say in the future. In the fall, she said on her podcast that she spent time looking for her dream home.

In an earlier episode of the podcast, Bratberg, who is the presenter of ‘God Kveld Norge’, said that she and her family needed more space. On the other hand, she ruled out moving out of town, even though her boyfriend was open.

– OMG. I can’t be a commuter. I am the city, I am the city. I belong here, in a way.

20 million later, Bratberg and his girlfriend, who have a child together, own a villa in Tåsen – in Oslo.

Several celebrities have invested in housing

Karlsen originally lives in Skien, but wanted an apartment in Oslo so he could avoid all the commutes from work to and from the capital.

– I really wanted the typical Oslo apartment with stucco and rosettes on the ceiling, but since it’s a commuter house, I didn’t even want it to be gigantic, Karlsen told Nettavisen at the time.

The influencer shelled out NOK 6.2 million for the 60-square-metre Majorstuen apartment, and even got it slightly below its appraised value.
